Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt - Love, Marriage, and Divorce
Who would have thought that a blind date between two popular celebrities could end up in marriage, yet this is exactly what happened between Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. But what many people were hoping to be a match made in heaven turned yet again into another statistic as the couple ended up in divorce.
Falling in Love and Getting Married
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt met when their agents set them up on a blind date last spring of 1998, and apparently, the two hit it off because, two years later, the couple married each other and had a very grand, million-dollar wedding ceremony in Malibu on the 29th of July 2000. Two hundred guests became witnesses to their wedding vows exchange, amidst fragrant flowers, marvelous display of fireworks, and band music.
It was a fairytale wedding, needing a fairytale ending.
An End to the Happily-Ever-After Fairytale Marriage
But no fairytale story is without conflicts, and conflicts did indeed come into the Aniston-Pitt marriage. Although the couple kept the cracks in their relationship hush-hush, nasty rumors and wild speculations started flying that the couple was having marital problems, and this started when Aniston was photographed one time without sporting her wedding ring.
Then in January 2005, the couple finally told the press and the whole world that they were formally separating, giving truth to the speculations. It would take another two months before Aniston ultimately filed for a divorce.
A Fairytale Turned Nightmare
The year 2005 was a rocky year for both Aniston and Pitt. While the divorce process was ongoing, nastier rumors and wilder speculations added to the chaos, the biggest issues being:
1. There was a budding relationship between Brad Pitt and Anglina Jolie, Pitt’s leading lady in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which only added fuel to the fire as the media painted Jolie as the “other woman.” However, both Pitt and Jolie denied such allegations.
2. The media has placed Aniston in a bad light, claiming that Pitt wanted children and Aniston did not want one. It was even said that Pitt was ready to have children, but Aniston was so focused on her career that having children was the least of her priorities.
The last quarter of the year 2005 has seen the end of the Aniston-Pitt marriage as their divorce was finally concluded on the 2nd of October 2005.
Life After Marriage
But life goes on after love, marriage and divorce. Now, Pitt is currently with his new partner, Angelina Jolie, together with their adopted and biological children. On the other hand, Aniston is currently going out with John Mayer, a popular singer, and rumors are also abounding that the two are tying the knot.
